Genealogy
I have got my information from:
Parish records from the IGI at the LDS website, from the Norfolk Transcription Archive website, from microfiche sets bought from the Norfolk Record Office and the Suffolk Record Office websites, and from the DART series of Norfolk Parish Register Transcripts available on CD from the Parish Register Transcription Society website, or, if that is down, from Parish Chest here or here.
UK census records from visits to the FRC - Family Records Centre in Myddleton Street, Islington (now housed at the National Archives in Kew), and from the Ancestry website which is part-free and part-subscription
GRO indexes from visits to the FRC, from Ancestry , and from the FreeBMD website
BMD certificates ordered through the GRO website, and obtained by swapping with other researchers
Other researchers. I have exchanged information with numerous other people doing their own family histories, but this website has essentially the results of my own research. In the few cases where my sole source for a piece of information has been another researcher, I have acknowledged this on the chart.
I would like to contact other related people for swapping of information. My e-mail address is alan_cash@hotmail.com (there is an underscore character between 'alan' and 'cash'). Only a part of my research is on this website. I have not included on this website any person born after 1900 in order not to impinge on the privacy of living persons. My charts are just my interpretation of the records I have seen. Please notify me if you spot any errors. I have census trails for persons on my charts who were alive sometime between 1841 to 1901. Please e-mail me if you want any of these.
I generated my charts using SmartDraw which I bought from here. Two versions of each chart are available - a web version and an Adobe (pdf) version. With the Adobe versions (which come up in a separate window) you can zoom in and out on the screen, and you will need to zoom to about 75% (by clicking the + button) to make the print readable on the screen. Also with the Adobe versions you can print a chart on one sheet of paper, although some charts will require an A3 sheet for the print to be large enough to be readable. Adobe versions require the Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded free from here. I generated the Adobe files using PrimoPDF which can be downloaded free from here.
For each of my ancestral surnames there is a name index to enable you to find which chart or charts a person appears on. There is also a master name index for all charts on this website. In my charts I have indicated where I have a copy of a BMD (birth/marriage/death) certificate with the © symbol. There are transcripts of the contents of all these certificates. Square brackets enclose a [maiden surname].

For some of these registers, I have created transcripts for specific surnames relevant to my own family history. Click on the links below to view these transcripts.
I am willing to help others doing their own family history research by doing specific look-ups on the sets of microfiche that I have. Please e-mail with your request giving the name of the person, the type of event (baptism, marriage, burial or bann), the approximate date of the event, and which parish to look in. Please note that the earlier parts of most registers are not readable to me for a variety of reasons, including antique script, close scrawly writing, or image too feint to make out, but I will do my best, time permitting. I am not charging for doing this. I cannot undertake long trawls, so please be specific about what you are looking for in your request.
