Catalogue of my collection of "H. Fleury junior" postcards
For some of the sets of cards, titles for the set are printed either on the front or the back of the card (At the Zoo, Noted Trains, Belle Vue, Our Camp, Our Holidays, Our Picnic, Hints to Motorists). For the remainder, I have grouped them by guesswork as I have collected them, and have invented the titles for the sets. For information about the life of Hermann Fleury junior , who was my great uncle, click here. Larger images of some of the cards appear on that page.

Cards 4, 5 and 6 of this set are without the H. Fleury junior signature. Perhaps he forgot to sign them, or perhaps the signature was cropped off in the printing process. I think the photographer in cards 2 and 6 of this set is modelled on the artist's father Hermann Fleury (senior) a portrait of whom can be found here. He was himself a photographer and portrait painter.

I have come across three versions of this set. Two are published by GD&D - one with, and one without, a white border. The third set (without border) is published by Chas. L. Reis & Co., Dublin. I have indicated below which cards from which set I have actually collected. Mount Melleroy (or Melleray) Monastery is in County Waterford in the south of the Republic (see card 4).

Pair of photography themed cards (click

I am not sure if these cards are from a set of six, or are just a pair on their own. They have a white border and I think they are early ones. On the back they are marked with the G. D.& D monogram and Printed in Germany. They also have the following text printed at the top of the message area:
|
FOR INLAND POSTAGE THIS SPACE, AS WELL AS THE BACK, MAY NOW BE USED FOR COMMUNICATION. FOR FOREIGN POSTAGE THE BACK ONLY. (Post Office Regulation). |
