This is a university text book for those studying town planning. It gives an account of new towns created in Great Britain. There are some general chapters which include parts on Ebenezer Howard's garden city movement. There are then separate chapters on 18 new towns of which Welwyn Garden City is one. The Welwyn Garden City chapter is 12 pages long. There are 9 black and white photographs of commercial and domestic architecture of Welwyn Garden City, and four plans. Sir Frederic Osborn (pictured below) was a town planner and one of the founders of the town being estates manager until 1936.
